Gynecomastia is the common word used for enlarged male breasts. Gynecomastia Surgical Technique
The extent and process of the procedure will vary depending on your individual anatomy and desired changes. Liposuction is usually used during surgery for gynecomastia. Any skin showing laxity can be removed to create a more tightened appearance and then the areola and nipple will be placed into a proper position. In most cases, this method requires a small incision close to where the glandular tissue collects. Once the fat and loose skin have been removed, the existing skin will be tightened.
What To Expect After Gynecomastia Surgery
Following gynecomastia treatment, patients generally go home the same day. Most patients return to work a few days after surgery and wear a compression garment for approximately 4 to 6 weeks to reduce swelling and expedite the healing process.
