Gluteal Augmentation
What Is A Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a form of gluteal augmentation. It provides an effective way to attain a shapelier and more defined buttocks without having to use implants. A Brazilian butt lift adds fullness to the buttocks to create the desired shape and lift. It has the added benefit of removing unwanted fat from other areas of the body. This is accomplished through a specialized liposuction and fat transfer process. Dr. Strazar will carefully remove fat from targeted areas of the body. Next, the fat is purified to ensure only high quality undamaged fat cells are remaining. This is then injected it into specific areas of the buttocks to shape and sculpt. An ideal Brazilian butt lift requires an artistic component to the transfer, which when delivered properly can produce a desired natural looking result without the concerns of an implant.
Am I A Brazilian Butt Lift Candidate?
Ideal Brazilian butt lift candidates are in good overall health and do not smoke. The first consideration is to make certain there is enough fat on the body to liposuction for the fat transfer process. Common donor areas include the abdomen, back and thighs. If you have a lighter body weight or have limited fat to extract and purify, you might not be a good fit for this surgery. It is also necessary to have healthy skin laxity. If you have wrinkled or sagging skin, you may require a surgical butt lift.
Surgical Options
Each procedure is specifically tailored and sculpted to meet your aesthetic needs. The length of the procedure depends on the amount liposuction and fat transfer required. When you meet with Dr. Strazar, he will walk you through the procedure and discuss all the options with you.
Your BBL Recovery
During the recovery process, it is important for you to get up and move around several times a day. This will help speed up the recovery process and reduce the risk of blood clots forming in the legs. It’s important to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks for two weeks. Pressure on the buttocks during this early phase of recovery may cause the small fat grafts to die and thus compromising your results.
You may be given a specialized compression garment to wear for the first two weeks. This garment applies pressure on the surrounding areas, but not the buttocks. You may also find it beneficial to use a special cushion when you sit that supports your thighs while allowing your buttocks to hang freely. This will help you avoid direct pressure to the buttocks region.
You should be able to resume regular activities and return to work after about two weeks. However, you’ll need to avoid strenuous activity and exercise for about six weeks. While you should start seeing initial results as your body begins to heal, it may take up to six months for your final results to become visible.
